Metrolys has been selected by the French Ministry of transport and the Association “Régions de France” to lead and deliver the survey called “interoperability between regions”.

Since 2029, the French Regions open to competitive markets the regional railways operations (TER), as well as information and ticketing systems, so far operated only by SNCF, the national historical carrier.

The split generated by the competitive processes might be perceived as a threat toward the quality of service delivered within regional passengers transportation.

The French Ministry of transport and Régions de France are willing to have a state of the art of solutions delivered today and by 2030 by the regional mobile applications and the classical ticketing systems.

Get information about regional trains (TER), buses and national trains, know about fares, buy tickets and benefit from aftersales services are the main functionalities offered by these systems, developed and implemented by regions, that are Public Transportations Authorities. They also enable ticket control and revenue split among stakeholders.

The survey will therefore deliver a due diligence about the “as is” situation and ongoing projects in the domain of intra and interregional mobilities.

Thanks to its demonstrated knowledge of the mobility ecosystem, the associated distribution systems and thanks to the proposed methodology, Metrolys has been selected by the Ministry and Régions de France.

The outcome of this survey is expected by summer 2025.
