It is underway: since 7 April 2026, and after three months of successful testing, the new ticket vending machines are now being deployed “at scale” across the 174 stations in Nouvelle-Aquitaine planned for rollout by July 2026.
After three weeks of deployment work in stations, 48 machines are now operational.

It should be noted that the current deployment work requires significant coordination, involving no fewer than six organisations: SNCF Voyageurs, SNCF Gares & Connexions, Arrive, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, Nouvelle-Aquitaine Mobilités (with the support of Metrolys), and its ticketing supplier Kuba.
The Modalis DATs are therefore replacing the former SNCF Voyageurs “DBR” machines, which are leaving behind several decades of service: the famous mechanical selector wheel is over, replaced by touchscreen-based machines that
also comply with accessibility requirements, such as appropriate screen
height for reduced mobility users.
Nearly the entire TER fare range available is sold, and new features will gradually be introduced to further enhance and improve the user experience.
