After just over a year of workshops, specifications, development, and testing/validation phases, Nouvelle-Aquitaine Mobilités (NAM) has put into service the first Automatic Ticket Vending Machine selling regional train tickets (TER) valid in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region and neighbouring regions.
For the first time, a station-based ticket machine, independent of SNCF Voyageurs, is selling TER tickets.
Metrolys is particularly proud to assist NAM in this initiative, which represents a major first step in the distribution of rail services in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region. This ticket machine installed at Bordeaux station will soon be followed by installations in Limoges, Pessac, Pau, La Souterraine, and Talence-Médoquine, where machines will be tested for three months before a region-wide rollout. In total, 190 machines will be installed across 174 stations by summer 2026.

Following these ticket machines, the regional ticketing system will be completed by the Modalis online store, which will take over from the TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine website, along with new ticket inspection devices and point-of-sale terminals in stations. These new sales channels will therefore replace those currently operated by SNCF Voyageurs.
Finally, the Modalis mobile app, which has been selling two types of TER tickets since May 2025, will gradually expand its fare offering throughout 2026 and 2027.
